Finishing third in Division One of the league in what was considered a pretty average league campaign, Nutfield's achievements in the cup was outstanding. After beating Merstham in the quarter- finals, who subsequently won the Premier Division, the victory over Phoenix, who finished third in the Premier Division, proved to be an upset on a grand scale. |
