Redhill's Pets at Home store in Brighton Road will hold a series of free pet workshops for children during Easter half-term.

The My Pet Pals Easter activity club will be held at 2pm throughout half-term with fun, interactive activities to educate young pet owners on how to care for small furry animals responsibly.

The store team will be on hand to share their knowledge, quiz the children on pet care in a ‘furry friends trail,’ and help youngsters create their own pet puppets.

The workshops will include hamsters, gerbils and guinea pigs, and the children will be able to help the store team when they provide them with an afternoon snack.

Store manager John Gaston said: “We want to help children have great fun across the Easter holidays, as well as the chance to learn about responsible pet ownership.

“Young pet lovers in Redhill will get an insight into the level of care needed to ensure these types of pets live happy, healthy lives, while the workshops also give parents a fun activity to entertain their children during the Easter holidays.”

After completing the workshops, each child will receive a certificate and sticker, and a pet promise card, where they make a pledge to look after any pet they have according to the five welfare needs, covering habitat, health, well-being, diet and behaviour.
