A cyclist suffered a broken shoulder in Redhill when someone in a passing car leant out, pushed his handlebars and knocked him off his bike.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened near the town's law courts on Wednesday, September 28.

The 49-year-old victim was cycling at about 7.30pm when an occupant of a car, believed to be a Mini, leant out and pushed one of his handlebars.

The push caused the cyclist to fall off, suffering a fractured shoulder and cuts and bruises to his leg, arm and hip.

Police said the car did not stop but made off in the direction of the police station.

Detective Constable Errol Chetty said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may be able to identify the occupants of the car.”

Det Con Chetty said: “Equally, I would urge the driver or passengers to get in touch themselves and give their side of the story.”
