Awards were presented at the annual meeting of Horley District Scout Council The Jack Harwood Award was presented by District Commissioner Andrew Harwood to Assistant District Commissioner (Cubs) Pam Hickman.
Long Service Awards were given to David Burleigh, joint editor of the Pow Wow Scout newsletter and Assistant Cub Scout Leader with 9th Horley Scout Group, Malcolm Holmes, Assistant District Commissioner (Scouts), Derek Stephens, Group Scout Leader 9th Horley, Peter Schultze, Badge Secretary, John Freebody, Assistant District Commissioner (Media) and President 1st Burstow, Michael Haynes, Group Scout Leader 5th Horley.
Mr Haynes was also presented with the bar to the Silver Acorn for his distinguised service to Scouting in Horley and Cub Scout Leader Sue List was presented with the Silver Acorn for distinguished service.
