Front-runners Dulwich stunned Kingstonian with an exciting attacking display that brought them a 5-2 Ryman League victory at Kingsmeadow Stadium on Saturday.

The Hamlet strike force made some serious demands of the Ks defence, especially the powerful Shawn Beveney, who scored twice and was practically unstoppable.

Bobby Traynor battled away bravely upfront for Ks and, without receiving as good a service as Beveney, he opened and closed the scoring.

Hamlet were quickly into their stride, with striker Chris Dickson testing keeper Luke Garrad with a 20-yard drive in the first minute and skipper Jamie Coyle seeing his header bounce off the top of the bar.

But in the 11th minute Ks, driven on by Gary Drewett, opened the scoring. Traynor sent keeper Simon Overland the wrong way from the penalty spot after he had been brought down by defender Gavin Dayes.

Hamlet soon recovered and equalised nine minutes later, with Beveney bursting forward to hammer the ball past a full-stretch Garrard. Hamlet took the lead on 29 minutes when centre-back Coyle sent in a quickly taken free-kick for Dickson to nod the ball past a stranded.

Moorhouse then did well to prevent ex-Ks man Serge Musungu breaking through, while a Mazin Ahmad free-kick was caught by a diving Garrard on his line.

Both keepers then had to make fine saves, Overland from Lee and and Gerrard from Beveney.

Three minutes into the second-half Dulwich made it 3-1 when Leigh Bremner drilled the ball beyond the diving Garrard.

Young Danny Summers almost reduced the arrears on his home debut, but Overland tipped away his header, and after 78 minutes Dulwich increased their lead to 4-1. Ahmad's powerful run down the middle was eventually blocked, but Beveney waltzed through to blast the ball past Garrard.

Three minutes into extra-time Beveney's through ball enabled Musungu to round Garrard and coolly slide the ball into an empty net for goal No. 5. A minute later Ks gained some scant consolation when Glenn Boosey's fierce drive was pushed away by Overland but only to the lurking Traynor, who fired home..
