DELIGHTED schoolchildren have thanked the volunteers who spent a wet weekend transforming a muddy, grassy knoll into a beautiful sensory garden.
Pupils of St Michael's primary school on the West Cliff met up with members of the Bournemouth Round Table at the official opening of their new landscaped garden.
The project was the idea of Round Table member Roger Hirons, who is a professional landscape gardener.
Round Table member Mark Kiteley said: "It looks absolutely lovely.
"Having looked again at a photograph of the original muddy knoll that we started with, I am really pleased with how it has turned out.
"The school are delighted too."
