In a scrappy game, Norton Ladies deservedly took the lead in the first half after they were awarded a penalty for blatant hand ball, which Rachel Horsley converted. Stockton West End 0 Norton 1.

Ancients U16A's took 6 points from the week's 2 games by beating Kader 2-1 in a tight affair. Kader took the lead with a good finish from a low cross, but Norton scored through Oakley and O'Sullivan, who made up for his miss after 10 seconds, to lead 2-1 at the break. Norton, probably unwisely, switched at half time from the 3-5-2 that worked so well to 4-4-2 and things then became close, both teams missing chances in the second half, Ancients 'keeper Rob Cotts pushing the outstanding Andy Bennett for man of the match. Good points, and the title's there to be won with our games in hand - we have to be brave now and go for it by attacking our opponents and playing to our strengths.

This League Cup Semi Final was N&SA U14's first game in 5 weeks and they struggled to play football on an awful uneven surface against a hard working Aycliffe. Tom Hinchleys well flighted free kick eluded everyone including the keeper to open the scoring. Second half against the wind saw Carl Williams double the lead with a low drive into the bottom corner. NASA made the best of the poor conditions and created several openings with Aycliffe resorting to long balls. With 10 minutes left a lapse in concentration after an upfield punt let in the Aycliffe striker who nicked it over the advancing keeper to give them hope. Jordan Baker impressed in his first game in a year and contributed to a move which found James Cass in his favourite position he powered past two defenders to ease the pressure with an unstoppable shot for NASA to make it 4 finals in 4 years. Newton Aycliffe 1 V N&SA U14's 3 The first meeting of these two sides saw NASA U14 Girls strike within the opening ten minutes leaving the California girls shell shocked, when Buttery made excellent progress down the left she found Johnson who jinked her way into the box to crash home a cracking shot from an acute angle California then pushed on to try and crack the NASA defence but the solid defensive pairing of Howells and man of the match Rodgers quickly dealt with any threats created. The second half saw a Norton reshuffle and the fleet footed Stockton was soon in action tearing open the California defence but her dangerous centres unfortunately could not be capitalised on by Chesworth and Roxby respectively seeing their shots charged down in the danger zone. Norton then wound down the clock with some excellent possession football ensuring another three points were firmly locked away in their gradual ascent up the table. California Belles 0 v Norton and Stockton Ancients U14 Girls 1 Another excellent team performance from U12 Girls with goals from Maddie Naisbitt(4), Jess Thomas (3) & Chelsea Basnett (1); and included notable contributions from Chelsea Muirhead, Kayleigh Draffan and Charlotte Portas. Trimdon 0 v 8 Norton & Stockton Ancients Norton relinquished a two-goal lead to go in level at half time. No second half goals, then in the first period of extra time Norton missed three absolute sitters. You have to take your chances and if we had we could easily have been 2-5 up. Instead we continued pressing until 2 minutes from time when a Grangetown free kick was allowed to bounce in the box, and was stuck away. Superb performance from Joel Galley, not enough to carry the team through on the day. U16 Challenge Cup semi final. Grangetown 3 - 2 Norton 'A' Great performance after the weekend's disappointment, Norton U16A's taking a 3-5-2 shape to good effect. 4-0 up at half time, with the foot off the gas in the second half.
