Kingstonian boss Ian McDonald refused to condemn club captain Martyn Lee after he was sent off for swearing at a linesman in Saturday's disappointing 0-0 draw at Corinthian Casuals.

McDonald confirmed that his creative playmaker had been fined by the club, but admitted he could understand Lee's frustration.

Lee lost control in injury time after a debatable line-call from the official almost let Casuals in for a winner.

"We have all done it," McDonald said.

"Martyn gave the referee no option, yet what would have happened if Casuals had scored?

"Stuart Reeks, who was shepherding the ball out of play, said it was a yard out."

Aveley, Kingstonian's opponents in the FA Trophy on Sunday, should offer an ideal opportunity for Ks' misfiring strikers to fill their boots.

The Essex strugglers are bottom of Southern Division One East, with seven points from 11 games and 29 goals conceded, and have even sacked their manager, Amin Levitt.

Winger Mazin Ahmed is available again after suspension and McDonald hinted that he could revert to 4-4-2.

Tony Reid or Tommy Cass will replace the injured Mark Watson, while Ian Dickens is expected to deputise in central midfield for Michael Brady, who is expected to be out for a month with an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Casuals will also hope their shot-shy attack can find their shooting boots in the FA Trophy, when they take on Stamford at King George's Field on Saturday.

Micky Stephens' men have only found the net in three of their 12 matches in all competitions so far this season and face a tough battle against the Lincolnshire side, who are fifth in the Southern League Eastern Division. Despite earning their first draw of the campaign against Ks, Casuals are still in the relegation zone.
