Wanderers will be appealing against Kevin Davies' sending off midway through the second half of Saturday's game.
Davies, who it was revealed today will be out of action for up to six weeks after suffering a depressed fracture of the xcheekb one, was sent off by referee Mike Dean for an alleged challenge on midfielder Amdy Faye.
But Allardyce believes that the red card was unjustified and will make an official appeal to the FA this week.
Allardyce said: "Even though Kevin will be out of action for six weeks, we feel it is right to appeal against his dismissal.
"There was nothing in the incident and he was unjustly sent off. It is a matter of principle and having looked at it again he was harshly treated."
