THEY ARE described as a pumping turbo-charged Gypsy wedding band' from Macedonia and they are set to bring the Turner Sims alive during their one-off concert.
King' Naat Veliov & the Original Kocani Orkestar are a brass band like no other. This Nefesli Orkestar of the Romany tradition consists of members of specific families, like many others.
In the Original Kocani Orkestar's case, lead trumpeter Naat Veliov and three further members of his family on the second trumpet, bass tuba and the darabouka are joined by friends of their Kocani neighbourhood on the sax, the baritone tuba and the drums.
The result is a melting pot of musical ideas, a punchy mix of powerful brass band sounds, thumping Turkish/Bulgarian rhythms and Eastern-style solos.
Audiences will be blown away with the music during this one-night only show on Saturday October 7.
