Save the date
Once you've booked your venue, you might want to send out save the date' cards to let people know when you're getting married, and to save the date' in their diary.
These are then followed by official invitations closer to the time as a more formal reminder.
If you're feeling inventive, there are more creative options to choose. Remember to allow for the expense in your stationery budget though.
Save the date ideas:
- Magnets
- Notes in organza bags
- Calendar cards, with the date marked off
- Have a CD or DVD sticky label made with the date on, attach to CD of music or video of the couple
- Notebooks with the date marked on each page
- Jigsaw cards that guests have to assemble to read the date
- Scratchcards that guests scratch to reveal the date (see www.ourmarriage.com for stockists)
