A summer in Italy, living in a beautiful, renovated home, spending your time basking in the sun and relishing in the beautiful scenery and towns.

Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? But of course, dreams like that can be expensive. Not many people can afford to live in Italy, in a new apartment for months.

But what if you could do it for free?

Well, now you can!

Airbnb is on the hunt for one lucky person to live in Sambuca, Italy at its expense!

Redhill And Reigate Life: (Airbnb)(Airbnb)

You will be provided with a newly renovated rent free apartment, free round trip flights and Italian lessons and cultural immersion sessions. You’ll also learn how to become an Airbnb host!

You can bring a friend, your partner or your family up to a maximum of two adults and two children in total.

Sounds like a dream! But what’s the catch?

As far as catches go, this one is very small! In order to apply, you must be over 18 years old and available to move to Sambuca between June 3 and September 30 2022.

You must also be conversational in English, and once there you must be committed to contributing to village life.

The house is designed with hosting in mind, so you will be hosting Airbnb guests from around the world for at least 9 months.

The building has three floors, with three bedrooms, working spaces and a living room and kitchen. And don't worry, the host gets first dibs on the bedroom!

What is Sambuca like?

Sambuca is a small rural village in Sicily, approximately 80km south of Palermo.

In 2016 it was awarded ‘most beautiful Italian village’, due to its beautiful blend of Italian and North African cultures and architectural styles.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up for this once in a lifetime experience on the Airbnb website here.

The application form asks questions regarding your availability to travel, passport length and you need to submit a 250 word short essay explaining "what brings you to Sicily, how you would organise your life there and how you see yourself as a host".

You can find out more about this Italy excursion on the Airbnb website.
