The last remaining piece of the Whitechapel fatberg, which once weighed 130 tonnes and stretched over 250 metres, has gone on show at the Museum of London.
The “modern monster from the sewers” was made up of fat, oil, grease, wet wipes and sanitary products which combined to create a gargantuan blockage as the capital’s sewerage system struggled to handle modern waste.
