Award-winning Horley photographer Tony Boxall FRPS will be carrying out a book-signing session in the town next week.

Tony, who down the years has won hundreds of honours and is ranked amongst the top amateur photographers in the world, will be signing copies of his autobiography at Collingwood Batchellor department store in Victoria Road on Saturday, November 27.

Entitled Negative to Positive – My Life in Words and Pictures, the book charts 80-year-old Tony's life in a light-hearted vein, but as Tony points out, “not all of it – just the important bits.”

Published as a tribute to his late wife Eve, Tony writes in his dedication to her that without her support over 60 years, “this book would never have come about.”

Tony, for many years chairman of Horley Camera Club, said: “I've written it as our life and every one of the pictures in the book has been published in books and magazines.”

He said: “I've written about my life story and I've written it humorously because autobiographies can be a bit of a bore.

“I've tried to represent what I've written about in the pictures.”

Winning strong reviews, the paperback book is packed with personal memories and lavishly illustrated with Tony's award-winning shots from down the years in black and white and colour, and offers an insight into his work.

The whole of Negative to Positive is also available to read online at: www.Blurb.com Tony's book-signing session at Collingwood Batchelor will run from 10.30am to 1pm.
