A DRUG driver was arrested after running a red light and crashing into another car.

The incident at High Post, in Salisbury, occurred on Tuesday.

No one was injured.

Officers from Wiltshire Police attended the scene and took a 'drugs wipe' from the driver, who was found to be under the influence of cannabis.

He was arrested and taken into custody, where a blood sample was taken as part of the drug driving procedure.

He has since been released under investigation whilst the sample is analysed.

Acting police sergeant Pete Simmonds, who attended the collision, said: “Both individuals who were involved in this collision were extremely lucky, in this incident no one was injured and cars can ultimately be replaced.

"This once again goes to show how easily crashes can occur and how we will continue to arrest those who drive over the limit for drugs or alcohol”.
