Highways crews are to start work resurfacing the M23 near Gatwick from tomorrow (Monday, December 2).
The Highways Agency (HA) has announced that sections of the carriageway will be resurfaced using overnight lane and slip-road closures. The work is due to be completed, weather permitting, on Saturday, December 7.
The HA said road-users will benefit from smoother journeys on the M23 around Junction 9 at Gatwick.
Anita Waterton, Highways Agency project sponsor, said: “We will be resurfacing sections of the north-bound M23 to provide safe and reliable journeys on this key route.”
She said: “We have planned the work to be carried out overnight, when we know traffic flows are lowest, to minimise the disruption.”
The work will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am.
The north-bound entry slip-road at Junction 9 and two lanes on the north-bound carriageway will be closed. A fully signed diversion will be in place via the south-bound carriageway to Junction 10.
