Coronation Street favourite Stephen Beckett opts for a change of scene and pace at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, next month.

The actor, who played Dr Matt Ramsden in the soap for five years, will be starring in tense suspense-filled drama, The Business Of Murder, at the Fairfield Halls from Tuesday, July 15, to Saturday, July 19.

Penned by Richard Harris and directed by Ian Dickens, the play is set in 1980s London and centres on two TV script writers who are invited to a flat by a man called Stone.

On their arrival, it soon becomes clear that all is not what it seems, and a story full of twists and turns follows.

Stephen Becket is also a familiar face through his five years in the cast of TV police soap The Bill, as well as appearances in Casualty, Robin Hood and Doctors.

Joining him in the cast are Nick Waring and Jacqueline Roberts.
