FIREFIGHTERS received an unusual call after a cow became stuck between two buildings in a picturesque Herefordshire village.
Kington's fire crew were called to the incident in Pembridge at around 10.05pm last Saturday after the animal became lodged in a narrow gap between two black and white houses.
"The two properties sit quite square to each other and there was a three foot gap which became about six inches at the bottom end," said Tony Price, watch manager at Kington fire station. "The cow had gone in head first but could not go any further."
Fortunately, the cow managed to manoeuvre itself out of the gap.
"It could have been an awkward situation but the cow eventually freed itself," Tony said. "We did a search of the garden and found it in a field where it did not look injured in anyway."
