A serial flasher who exposed himself to shocked commuters at train stations was spared jail.

Thurock man Alastair Ferguson, 43, has been before the courts at least seven times for repeatedly showing off his genitals in public.

In an attempt to curb his addiction Ferguson even asked the courts to slap him with an Anti Social Behaviour Order.

But he broke the main conditions, to prevent him from entering railway stations, within a month of the order.

The lorry driver, who has previously flashed at motorists when stopped at traffic lights, was given a three year supervision order at Southwark Crown Court.

He had earlier admitted exposing himself on Liverpool Street station at midnight and breaking the terms of his ASBO.

The recent offence in March is the latest in a long line of indecent exposure crimes carried out by Ferguson dating back to 1989.

Prosecutor Lesley Bates said Ferguson was seen by station staff exposing himself on one of the platforms just after midnight on March 18.

Judge Peter Testar told him: "The courts have tried everything to try and stop you committing these disagreeable and alarming offences.

"At your own request an ASBO was placed on you in an attempt to tackle the problem but nothing has seemed to work so far.

"This offending must stop. You seem to act like this when you are in drink and that is one of the triggers you must recognise and prevent."

Ferguson, of Hayes Close, Parsonage Road, West Thurrock, Essex, was given a three year supervision order concurrent after admitting exposure and breaching the ASBO.
