A BANDSTAND, boat and lighthouse are among the ideas being considered for the revamped Southend Pier.
Three themes based around relaxation, maritime and the environment have been devised for the fire-ravaged pierhead after the results from a recent round of public consultations were collated.
Now the council has come up with three distinct designs and is asking people which one they most like the look of.
Ann Holland, executive councillor for culture, said: "The first consultation was a scoping exercise.
"As people came on the pier, we gave them a postcard and asked them what they would like to see.
"We have now drawn up three ideas and residents, groups and other people are being invited to come and give their views.
"What came out from the consultation is people don't want glitzy rides. But it could be a mixture of two of the themes, such as maritime and environment, or all three of the themes."
But Mrs Holland said the images were simply "indications" and not "set in stone".
The next round of the consultation will be officially launched tomorrow, at midday, at Southend Civic Centre, in Victoria Avenue, Southend.
It will then move to Southend Pier entrance from Monday, April 2 to Sunday, April 15 inclusive.
