Oxford City Stars will look to end their 2006/7 home campaign on a high note when they entertain Haringey Greyhounds at Oxpens Road tomorrow.

Back-to-back defeats against Streatham and Haringey last weekend ended Stars' play-off dreams, but they have achieved great things this season, finishing in the top four in the South Division.

And Stars will be eager to avenge last weekend's 6-2 defeat to Haringey, who now lead the play-offs.

Coach Darryl Morvan said: "Although mathematically we cannot now qualify for the final, the team wants to have a strong finish to the season.

"This will give us the foundations for next year's competition.

"Through this season, people have said we are out of our depth.

"But the team have consistently proved the doubters wrong.

"We know we have the ability to beat Haringey, and although last week's result would suggest otherwise, I saw nothing there to make me think that we cannot get a result this week."

In a bid to boost their support, Stars have put on another special offer, with the first child being admitted free with a paying adult.

They will also get the chance to meet Stars' players after the game in the café.

Morvan added: "The players are determined to put on a good show for our supporters in our last home game.

"The support we have received this year has been fantastic and has contributed to our success.

"It would be great to see a full-house tomorrow so the players can show their appreciation."

Doors open at 5.30pm with face-off at 6pm.
