FIRST aiders from Highbridge and Burnham St John Ambulance Cadets have swept the board at a county competition.
Last weekend two teams from the division competed against others from across Somerset and had to treat casualties with simulated injuries, working as a group for one test and individually for another.
The scenarios included fractures, cuts and burns and one test involved resuscitating a non-breathing casualty.
Spokesman Sarah Westlake said: "The Highbridge and Burnham teams were placed 1st and 2nd overall.
"In 1st place were Charlotte Aldred and Lucy Westlake and this pair also won the trophy for best team test and Charlotte won the individual award.
"In 2nd place were Rhiannon Parsons and Lydia Williams, these two also won the cup for the smartest uniform.
"Charlotte and Lucy will now go on to represent Somerset at the South West Regional Competitions in Cornwall in May."
