HALESOWEN band Miccoli helped pull in the pounds for Comic Relief through record sales and an action-packed gig-a-thon.

The melodic three-piece, comprising brothers Adriano and Alessandro and their younger sister Francesca, ran from gig to gig at seven different venues in and around Birmingham's bullring on Friday March 16 as part of Red Nose Day antics.

Donations and proceeds from sales of their debut album Writing on Rooves helped rake in £350 for the nationwide charity appeal.

Currently on sale at Birmingham's Virgin Megastore, the album will continue to boost the Comic Relief fund this week and beyond. For a limited time, £2 from every £10 Miccoli recording bought will go to the fund.

Originally called Meridien, the band are now getting set to record their first video at Birmingham's NIA on May 29 to accompany debut single Fallout.

On Sunday June 3 they will be taking to the stage for an intimate gig at Birmingham's Glee Club, where they will be performing tracks from their self-produced first album.

Tickets for the gig, priced £8, will be available on the door.
