Fearnhead parish councillors banned Woolston Rovers open age rugby team from playing at Bennetts Rec because it was reported that they had left dirty changing rooms after games.

This is totally untrue and now the excuse is the pitch is in need of repair.

Considering that the season is coming to a close the pitch is in fair condition, no worse and, if anything, better than most other council pitches which all remain open. Woolston is top of division six with only three home games to play. They have had to play the last two homes games at away venues because Fearnhead parish councillors will not grant permission for them to play at Bennetts Rec.

The Government goes on about obesity, feral gangs, youth crime and vandalism.

Yet playing and training for any sport promotes physical and mental education along with teamwork, team building and spirit, respect for other people and property.

This is something that the parish councillors are stopping Woolston Rovers from doing.
