Simon Jordan says himself and Peter Taylor are already planning a summer shake-up in preparation for the Eagles' next promotion push.

The Palace chairman said promotion was a neccessity at the start of this campaign, due to the club being in its final year of receiving Premiership parachute payments following relegation from the top flight two seasons ago.

But things have not gone according to plan for Jordan, with the Eagles unlikely to even reach the play-offs.

However, the Palace chairman is sticking by Taylor to deliver the club's top flight return and the duo are already putting together a plan for next year.

"I have developed a newer trait which is patience and I believe that Peter can achieve this for us," said Jordan.

"We have a plan and a strategy. Significant investment both financially and logistically has gone into our academy.

"We are seeing the fruits of these efforts with talent coming through - Lewis Grabban, Lewis Spence, Aaron Fray, Royce Wiggins, David Wilkinson and behind them, Victor Moses, Sean Scanell and John Bostock to name a few.

"These players really want to play for Palace and have the passion for the club we have, coupled with good experienced players, who want to be here, will get us success.

"If ultimately this season we don't achieve our promotion aim, which looks the case, Peter and I intend to shake things up so that next year we are really ready."
