Kingston Road (Service Road 332 - 380) (D2414) Ewell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021
On 07 July 2021 Surrey County Council Made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Kingston Road (Service Road 332 - 380) (D2414) Ewell as extends from its junction with (D2372) Salisbury Road to its junction with (D2414) Timbercroft. This Order, which will commence on 21 July 2021 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: carriageway surfacing and/or major highway maintenance works. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
Kingston Road (C254) Ewell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021
On 7 July 2021 Surrey County Council ("the Council") made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Kingston Road (C254) Ewell, which extends from its junction with Meadow Walk to the north-western flank wall of No. 21 Kingston Road. This Order is required due to the likelihood of danger to the public caused by structural damage to a building following a car crash. The Order will commence on 16 July 2021 and continues in force the provisions of a Notice issued under Section 14(2) of the Act, which came into operation on 25 June 2021, for a further 17 month period, namely "The Surrey County Council Kingston Road (C254) Ewell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2021 ".The temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and to the extent indicated by those signs. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and Section 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessibly only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/ or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising. The restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
