That's our son!
NOW retired to Scotland, we were surprised to receive Page 5 of Life of April 2 from a relative. Heading the article about 50 years of VSO is a picture of our son Justin in the Education Office in Banjul, The Gambia.
Justin has been a successful deputy head of Beauchamps School, Wickford, Essex. For a year now he has been working with VSO helping to raise standards in the education system in The Gambia.
It may be interesting to know that we were volunteers with VSO for two years from 1966.
In fact, as I was brought up in Reigate, we were sponsored by the Reigate VSO Group. We were some of the first graduates to be sent abroad - spending two happy but demanding years teaching in Ghana. It certainly changed our attitude to life and our world-view.
