Bobtails Playgroup in Horley is marking its first anniversary in its home, The Warren, at Horley Infant School, and a year of success.

The independent committee-run playgroup with 60 children aged from two to four, was the only playgroup in Surrey to attend the Ofsted Outstanding Providers awards in London.

Ofsted carried out an unannounced inspection of Bobtails two days after it moved into its purpose-built home, called The Warren.

Ofsted carried out another unannounced inspection in February.

Both times, Bobtails was given an “outstanding” judgement.

Justine Palmer of Bobtails, who also runs a playgroup at St Francis Church Hall, Horley, for 55 children, said: “This is a really big achievement for a committee-run playgroup.
