Horley Jazz Songs of Praise raises hundreds for African cause

A Jazz Songs of Praise held at Horley Methodist Church recently raised more than £660 for a cause working with ex-street children in Zambia.

The event at the church in Victoria Road, Horley, drew about 160 people to hear The Roger Hind Jazz Quartet, an augmented choir of more than 40 singers from local churches, and guest trumpet star and BBC Songs of Praise regular Raul D'Oliveira.

The £662.31 raised will now go towards the work of Mission Direct in Zambia, with The Fountain of Hope, a centre for ex-street children in the capital, Lusaka.
