Beatles tribute band have ticket to Reigate

A "fab" night out is in store in Reigate later this month with a performance from Fab Four lovers The Vox Beatles for a local cause.

The tribute outfit will be playing live at Holy Family Church hall in Yorke Road on Saturday, September 29.

The band will be going through the Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr songbook to raise money for the appeal towards two new community centres at St Joseph’s Church in Ladbroke Road, Redhill, and Holy Family Church.

All proceeds will go to the fundraising for the two new parish centres.

The Parish of the Nativity of the Lord fundraising committee needs to raise around £500,000 for the new centres.

Once up and running, parish functions will be held in the buildings, and the facilities will be open to various community groups including the Scouts, Cubs, Brownies and young musicians. The centre at Redhill, seating up to 400 people, will include a pre-school playgroup, coffee bar with social area, meeting room and kitchen. Building is well under way and due for completion in December. The Reigate centre will follow, incorporating a parish office, hall and meeting room. Father Chris Spain, clergy team moderator, has described the centres as a “legacy for future generations.”

The Vox Beatles will be joined on the bill by Missjudged, a band of pupils from Saint Bede’s School, Redhill.

Tickets for the date, which will run from 7.45pm until 11pm, cost £5 each or £20 per family, and are available on 01737 243781. People wanting to volunteer or fundraise for the new parish centres should email: fundraising@thenativityofthelord.org.uk
