12:06pm Friday 29th June 2012 in Local News
Scrumpy lovers have a treat in store in Horley next month with a pub holding a 19-day cider festival.
The Jack Fairman in Victoria Road will be offering up to 16 draught and bottled ciders from cider-makers across England and Wales from Wednesday, July 11, until Sunday, July 29, inclusive.
The selection will include traditional ciders, fruit ciders and perries (pear cider).
Among those on offer will be Mr Whitehead’s Plum Cider, Thatchers Cheddar Valley, Sheppy’s Farmhouse Draught, Weston’s Cider Twist Blackcurrant, Gwynt y Ddraig’s Welsh Gold Perry and Sandford Orchards’ Devon Scrumpy.
Pub manager Ross Markwick said: “Cider is the perfect summer drink and I am certain that people will enjoy our fantastic selection, a number of which are not usually available in the area.”
All of the ciders will be available at £2.20 a pint and tasting notes on all of the ciders will be available at the pub.
