Redhill borough councillor dies

Redhill borough councillor Frank Moore has died.

Coun Moore, who represented Redhill East on Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, died on Tuesday.

Leader of the council Joan Spiers said he was one of the council's hardest working and most loyal members.

Coun Moore was first elected as ward member for Redhill East in 2000, before standing down in 2007.

More recently, he had been representing the ward again, having been re-elected in 2008.

A member of various council committees, he had a keen interest in planning issues.

A council spokeswoman said he would be well remembered for his work and involvement with the Holmethorpe Relief Road.

Coun Spiers said: “Frank Moore was one of our most hard working and loyal councillors, always putting his residents first.

“He will be sadly missed by his colleagues. I have lost a good friend.”
