A Nobel Peace Prize-winning charity is to stage a fundraising run on land close to Redhill.
The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is to team up with British Military Fitness (BMF) to run the cross-country event on land owned by the Ministry of Defence on Saturday, October 17.
BMF have said the fundraising run will test runners with hills, ditches and greenery, and promises they will finish wet, muddy, smelly and exhausted – but with a smile on their face.
Lesley Achim, MAG's events officer, said: “Root out your old trainers, kiss goodbye to dry feet and get stuck into this event.
“Yes, it will be wet, and yes, you will get covered in mud, but it will be very challenging and way more fun than your average run round the block.”
Participants can choose from either the 5k or 10k runs and the entry fee is £22 with MAG asking that runners raise a minimum of £100.
The money raised from the event will go towards helping MAG's vital and life-saving work clearing the remnants of conflict in affected countries worldwide.
