Officers from East Surrey CID are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in Horley.

At around 9.30am on Monday, 5 January, the victim was walking along an alleyway on Manor Close when she was approached by two other women and violently assaulted. The incident left the woman with cuts and bruising to her head and face but she did not require hospital treatment.

The assault was reported to police the following day and since the offence occurred a number of enquiries have been carried out.

Investigating officer PC Gavin Dublin-Cumberbatch, said: “This was a vicious assault which has left the victim with not only physical injuries which will take time to heal but the experience will no doubt stay with her for some time too.

“It is believed a silver car drove passed the scene moments after the incident occurred, could this have been you? If so, please contact us as you may have information vital to our investigation.

“Since the assault was brought to police attention we have made a number of enquiries into the offence but we believe those responsible would have spoken to others about their part in the assault and I urge these people to come forward.”

Anyone who can assist with the investigation is urged to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45150001483. Information can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
