A 17-year-old boy from Horley has been handed a Criminal Behaviour Order for his anti-social behaviour which has caused distress in the town.

Callum Alan James Grist has received the order for 12-months which excludes him from a section of the town as well as associating with three named males and acting in an anti-social manner.

If he is found to break any of these prohibitions he will be committing a criminal offence.

Horley Neighbourhood Officer PC Amelia Brown, said: “For a long time Callum’s actions left many in the Horley community with high levels of anxiety and therefore I welcome the order against him.

“I feel very passionately that all victims are given the support and reassurance from the police that if they report anti-social behaviour action will be taken against the culprit.

“I hope this order gives the clear message that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities.”

The order, which was granted at South East Surrey Magistrates Court in Redhill in November, is the first one Surrey Police has handed to an offender.
