A former finance worker has left his career of 25 years to open a company providing quality care for older people in their own homes across Reigate, Bletchingley, Caterham and surrounding areas.

Home Instead Senior Care is being run by Greg Brown and the business marks a significant career change for him, seeing him move from the financial services industry and into the care sector.

Mr Brown, who was born in Redhill and attended Reigate Grammar School, decided that he was working in a job that he didn’t enjoy and vowed it was time to do something about it.

Explaining the career change Mr Brown said: “My sons, who I always advised to pursue something in life that they enjoy, turned it on me and told me to practice what I preached.”

After seeing a job advertisement in a shop window, the father of three Mr Brown’s life took a change of direction and he began work as a carer for Home Instead in Epsom.

He then took on additional responsibilities as the community services representative raising awareness about how Home Instead differ to other care companies.

Describing his time working as a carer and his motivation for caring, Mr Brown said: “I loved being a carer, to be able to really make a difference to people.”

Home Instead Senior Care hopes to help clients to continue living independent lives in their own home for as long as possible with a commitment to providing quality care.
