More than 200 hopefuls auditioned for a chance to appear alongside TV star Stephen Mulhurn and CBeebies presenter Cat Sandion in Sleeping Beauty.

Auditions for dancers to appear in the family favourite pantomime this Christmas were held at the Hawth in Crawley.

After the dancers were put through their paces, the show’s producers selected 23 girls who will appear in the pantomime.

Producer Emily Wood said she was overwhelmed by the response from local performers.

She said: “The talent here is amazing and everyone was at such a high standard it was hard to whittle it down to just 23 but we’ve definitely got the right girls – great dancers and they really gave their all, which is just what we need to make Sleeping Beauty the best pantomime ever.”

Sleeping Beauty the pantomime takes place at the Hawth in Crawley from 12 December and tickets can be purchased from the Hawth box office on 01293 553636 or online at www.Hawth.co.uk
