More than 60 people gathered at a potential fracking site to protest against a controversial energy extraction method.

Demonstrators raised their concerns about the drilling which has been taking place in the area as well as the extraction of shale gas, which requires the highly controversial process of fracking.

Campaigners said the protest was a good natured event but protesters continuted to give the message that exploiting shale gas is not wanted or needed.

Sarah Finch, from Frack Free Surrey, said, "It was great to meet so many people who share our concerns.

"People who live very close to the site talked about the noise, traffic, light pollution and the impacts on animals.

"People from further afield in Surrey and Sussex came to show their opposition to new oil drilling and especially the threat of fracking in this area."

The protest took place on Sunday October 5.
