A special concert both to commemorate the Centenary of the start of First World War as well as celebrate the 70th birthday of noted British composer Karl Jenkins will be staged by leading Surrey choir the Reigate & Redhill Choral Society in Reigate in November.

The performance of "The Armed Man - A Mass for Peace" at St Mary’s Church in Reigate on Saturday 8 November will be one of several events taking place around the world to celebrate this major milestone in the life of Karl Jenkins, the world’s most performed living composer.

The choir is also inviting local singers to participate in this historic concert by joining a Choral workshop on Saturday 25 October at the United Reformed Church Hall at Shaw’s Corner in Redhill.

Reigate & Redhill Choral Society is keen to welcome new members for the busy 2014/15 season ahead – and is holding two 'Open Days' on Tuesday 23 & 30 September at the United Reformed Church Hall in Redhill from 7.45 – 9.45pm.

Potential new members are warmly invited to meet and sing alongside existing members to achieve high standards in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.
