A wanted man who was arrested at Gatwick Airport last week after cruising to Canada on the Queen Mary 2 liner, was due to appear in court last Friday (June 13).

Paul Branch, 55, unemployed, of Silwood Street, Brighton, was refused entry to Canada after arriving at Halifax on the Queen Mary 2 liner on Wednesday (June 11).

A Sussex Police spokesman said Branch was wanted for failing to appear at Brighton Magistrates Court for common assault on a warrant not backed for bail.

He was due to appear at Brighton Magistrates Court on Friday morning.
