A man who died after being hit by a train at Horley railway station on May 28 has been formally identified.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said the man who died was David McCallum, 28, and from Redhill.
The spokesman said: “Officers from BTP attended the incident, alongside colleagues from Surrey Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident was reported to BTP at 5.05pm and is being treated as non-suspicious.” He said: “The man’s family have been informed and a coroner’s inquest into the death was opened and adjourned on Thursday, June 5.”
The incident, which involved the 4.24pm service from Brighton to Bedford, caused delays of up to 60 minutes on services between Horsham, Haywards Heath and East Croydon, and affected, among other services, the Gatwick Express.
