St Bartholomew’s Church in Church Road, Horley, will be marking the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War with a community exhibition and flower festival in July.

The church, which has links to the Great War including its churchwarden from 1881 to 1891, Henry Webber, being at 67, the oldest man to be killed on the Somme, will be holding a First World War Centenary Exhibition and Flower Festival from Friday, July 4, through to Sunday, July 6.

It is inviting groups, schools and people to take part.

Local organisations, companies and people are being invited to write articles or poems, exhibit artwork or artefacts, or provide a floral exhibit.
