Surrey weather expert Ian Currie will give the second in a series of early evening talks at Worthing Library in West Sussex on Thursday, May 8.

Mr Currie, who spoke recently at a meeting of Horley Local History Society, will give the talk, entitled Gales, Greenhouses and Global Warming, at 6pm.

A writer and broadcaster, Mr Currie has presented Weather Watch for BBC Southern Counties Radio, where he also presents a monthly slot on the gardening show, Dig It, and has also appeared on the BBC South TV Inside Out series.

The author of ‘Red Sky at Night,’ ‘Frosts, Freezes and Fairs’ and the popular Michelin series, ‘I spy Weather,’ he is a committee member of the Climatological Observers Link and a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society. He currently manages the Frosted Earth website at: www.frostedearth.co.uk The website gives a detailed forecast of weather conditions in the South-east for up to 72 hours in advance.

In his talk at Worthing Library, he will draw on his experience to explore the highly topical question of whether our weather is changing.
