A Merstham man has been sentenced to a total of 30 weeks imprisonment after admitting carrying out a burglary in Redhill.
John Nolan, 31, of Ketton Green, pleaded guilty to burglary at Guildford Crown Court. The court heard that at some point between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday, March 25, Nolan entered a property in Jason Road and stole a number of items of jewellery and money.
He appeared at Guildford Crown Court on April 16 and was sentenced to 16 weeks imprisonment for the burglary, as part of a total of 30 weeks imprisonment, because he was already serving a suspended sentence.
Investigating Officer Detective Constable Sarah Jupp, said: “I welcome the sentence handed to Nolan and we are happy he will be taken off the streets of Surrey for a period of time.”
She added: “I hope the sentence handed to Nolan will remind him and others that Surrey Police will not tolerate criminality in our county.”
