Tidy-up town councillors in Horley are appealing for volunteers to wade into a clearance operation with them along the edge of the River Mole.

Horley Town Council is seeking volunteers to help in clearing lumpy debris from the River Mole’s water’s edge.

The clearance work is set for Saturday, April 12, with people meeting in the car park of Ye Olde Six Bells pub in Church Road at 10am.

People wanting to help should take along a garden rake or similar implement, and wear Wellington boots and suitable clothes.

The town council will provide gloves and plastic sacks.

People arriving after the team’s deployment on the day, should call 07885 172277 for directions.
