Crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers has put up a reward of up to £2,000 in the wake of a “terrifying” aggravated burglary at a pub in Charlwood.
The independent charity is offering the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two men who carried out the raid at the Greyhound pub.
During the burglary, the intruders threatened the pub landlady at knife-point.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was woken by the burglars at about 5.30am on Thursday, March 13.
They brandished a knife at her and forced her to open a safe.
After she did, the men left, taking cash.
It is not known exactly how much was taken.
One of the offenders was described as white and spoke with a London accent.
Following the burglary, Surrey Police's senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Paul Gordon, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim and we will do all we can to bring those responsible to justice.”
Det Insp Gordon said: “At this stage in the investigation we believe the property was specifically targeted because the burglars made very detailed demands.”
Now Crimestoppers is offering the reward of up to £2,000, hoping that information passed anonymously to its 0800 555 111 number will lead to the culprits.
Angela Hollinshead, Crimestoppers area manager for Surrey, said: “This burglary was immensely distressing for the victim, leaving her absolutely terrified.”
She said: “We urge anyone with information to contact us anonymously, safe in the knowledge that no-one need be in fear of their identity being revealed.”
Anyone with information on the burglary should contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Alternatively, people can report details through its anonymous online form at: www.crimestoppers-uk.org Rewards will only be payable for information passed to Crimestoppers’ 0800 555 111 number. Information passed to police will not qualify.
