Reigate firefighters were called to a suspected fire at an address in Redhill in the early hours, only to find an altogether different cause for alarm.
The crew, called out to Cambridge Square at just after 1am yesterday, found vermin instead of flames within the cavity walls of the house.
The crew left the incident with the homeowner, advising them to inform a pest controller.
