Teenagers arrested after Merstham caravan break-in
Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary following a break-in to a caravan in Merstham.
The break-in happened at around 8.50pm on Wednesday, February 26, when police said two males forced their way into a caravan parked on private land off Weldon Lane.
The intruders then threatened the occupant, a man in his late teens, with a small knife.
Police said nothing was taken though.
A Surrey Police spokeswoman said: “At this stage in the investigation it is believed the offenders and the victim are known to each other, and this was not a random incident.”
She said: “A number of enquiries were made in the local area following the incident, and a 16-year-old boy was arrested a short time later. “A 17-year-old boy was arrested at the end of the week. “Both have been released on police bail until Tuesday, April 15.”
