Whitepost Hill in Redhill has been closed due to damage caused by a burst water main.
The burst on a 15-inch main late last Friday night (February 7) caused minor flooding in two properties. A Sutton and East Surrey Water spokesman said: “The main was repaired by the following morning, but the road has been badly damaged over an area in excess of 400m2. “Repair work and reinstatement is taking place, but Whitepost Hill is likely to remain closed until early next week, subject to weather conditions. “ A diversion is in place. Running clockwise, the route is Whitepost Hill, The Chase, Blackborough Road, Hatchlands Road, Linkfield Corner, Station Road, Queensway, London Road, Princess Way, Marketfield Road, Brighton Road, Brook Road, Hooley Lane and Mill Street.
Running counter-clockwise the route is Whitepost Hill, Mill Street, Brighton Road, High Street, Cromwell Road, St Matthews Road, Station Road, Linkfield Corner, Hatchlands Road, Blackborough Road and The Chase.
