A group of East Surrey charity fundraisers are to hold a themed ball at the Reigate Manor Hotel this Saturday (February 15).
The eight-strong committee of Caterham-based organisers are holding the event to raise money for Action for Carers Surrey, which aims to raise awareness of carers’ needs and concerns throughout the county, and to work in partnership with statutory services such as health care and social care teams, to promote how best they can serve carers within Surrey.
The cause also focuses on running programmes for child carers who perhaps have to look after disabled parents.
The organisers are hoping the themed ball will be as successful as their last, which raised more than £1,000 for the palliative care unit at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Taking the theme of Disney Through The Ages, the sell-out ball will see 160 guests sit down to a five-course dinner, disco and charity raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses, and proceeds going directly to Action For Carers Surrey.
